TacticsPRC Match Overview

The first annual Tactics Precision Rifle Challenge tested the rifle shooter’s skills and equipment at known and unknown ranges, as well as varying inclines, wind and lighting conditions between 100 yards and 700 yards. A night shoot further tested the competitor’s skills. Round count was 160 rifle rounds. Timed movement took the competitor through the rugged beauty of the central Arizona Sonoran desert. A variety of field shooting positions were required to spot and engage steel targets. Flash targets were not always easily detected, and sometimes points were not earned within time limits.

Caliber restriction

Allowed calibers included any from .223/5.56mm to .300 Winchester Magnum with velocity not to exceed 3,100 fps.  Shots were chronographed at sign-in. If shooting a .223, heavier bullets were highly recommended.

Schedule

  1. BulletFriday, February 20th: Mandatory sign-in from
1 p.m. – 6 p.m.; you may sight in rifles after signing in.

  2. BulletSaturday, February 21st: 7:00 a.m. is a mandatory shooters meeting. Shooting will begin at 7:30 a.m.

  3. BulletSunday, February 22nd: Shooting 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Awards will be announced from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
